Behind Kuenster, fellow freshman Sabrine Garrison finished in a tie for 32nd (77-74-76-227, +11), with senior Carmen Laguna two strokes behind in a tie for 41st (73-80-76-229, +13). Senior Anna Laorr was tied for 61st place at +18 (76-82-76-234), while sophomore Emie Peronnin completed the Gophers team in a tie for 73rd at 23-over-par (82-79-78-239).
Competing as an individual, freshman Heather Ciskowski placed in a tie for 68th at +21 (80-78-79-237).
Southern California claimed the team title at 12-over (294-287-295), and the Trojans' Annie Park was the medalist at -5 (73-69-69-211).
Minnesota will return to action next week in the Lone Star State, traveling to the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational. The three-day tournament at the UT Golf Club begins Sunday.
WILMETTE, Ill. - Freshman Celia Kuenster fired an even-par 72 in the final round to place sixth overall, as the Minnesota women's golf team wrapped up play on Tuesday in the Windy City Collegiate Classic, held at Westmoreland Country Club.
As a team, the Gophers completed the tournament in 10th place (298-306-300-904, +40), while Kuenster (72-73-72-217) finished tied in sixth place at one-over with second-round leader Emily Penttila of Tulane. For Kuenster, it matched her best finish from two weeks earlier at the Minnesota Invitational.
