GOPHERS BACK ON THE ROAD TO NO. 6 PENN STATE
After a single home match Wednesday night, the University of Minnesota is back on the road, Saturday, as it travels to No. 6 Penn State in University Park, Pa. The Golden Gophers and Nittany Lions battle at 6 p.m. CT. Penn State defeated the Gophers in four sets at the Sports Pavilion, Sept. 27.

ON THE DOCKET
Minnesota continues its road trek into next week as it travels to Maryland, Nov. 19 in College Park, Md. The Gophers return to the Sports Pavilion, Nov. 22 against Purdue.
TAPPS RECEIVE ACADEMIC LAURELS
University of Minnesota sophomore middle blockers Paige Tapp and Hannah Tapp have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Teams, announced by the College of Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA). Paige Tapp received first-team all-district honors, while the Hannah Tapp was named to the second-team all-district. As a first-team honoree, Paige moves onto Academic All-America voting, where first, second and third-team All-America selections will be named later this month.
ROAD WARRIORS
The Gophers are in the midst of finishing the regular season with seven of their last 10 matches on the road. Minnesota is 7-5 away from the Sports Pavilion this season, including a 5-7 mark on opponent's home court. After the Penn State and Maryland road matches, the Gophers are home against Purdue (11/22) and at Ohio State (11/26), followed by closing out the season hosting Indiana (11/28).
WEDNESDAY NIGHT RECAP
The University of Minnesota defeated Northwestern in four sets, 20-25, 25-20, 25-18, and 25-15 at home Wednesday night to improve their overall record to 16-10, and 6-9 in Big Ten play. Minnesota hit .313 in the win, while it held Northwestern to .236. Minnesota had 63 kills to Northwestern's 52, outblocked the Wildcats, 12-8, and posted a 64-59 dig advantage. The Gophers were led by Daly Santana, who tied a career-high 21 kills as she hit .429 (21-3-43). Sarah Wilhite followed with a double double when she had 18 kills, 16 digs and hit .395. Erica Handley came into the match in the second set and established a match-best 43 assists. Paige Tapp had 10 kills, eight total blocks (2-8) and hit .333. Molly Lohman also came off the bench and had four kills in eight attempts and had two blocks. Dalianliz Rosado added a match-high 19 digs and had five assists.
ABOUT THE NITTANY LIONS
No. 6 Penn State enters the Minnesota match with at 25-3 overall record and 13-2 mark in league action. With their last loss coming on Oct. 11 to Illinois, PSU is riding a nine-match win streak. In that span, they have only dropped two sets and have won the past eight matches, 3-0. Holding the nation's best hitting percentage, the Nittany Lions are hitting .357 this season, led by the nation's top hitter, Nia Grant, at .477. Ali Frantti has 298 kills, followed by Aiyana Whitney with 259, while Megan Courtney is at 217. Micha Hancock has 1,054 assists and 87 aces, also a national high. Haleigh Washington has a team-best 1.23 blocks per set, while Dominique Gonzalez has a team-high 331 digs.

DIGGIN' IT
The tandem of Dalianliz Rosado and Alyssa Goehner have split time as the Gopher libero this season. In the past eight of nine matches, Rosado has accumulated 10 plus digs. Against Nebraska, she collected a career-high 21. Rosado added another 10 against Indiana, 13 at Purdue, and 14 against Michigan State. In all, she has had 12 matches with 10 or more digs. Goehner has also seen action as the libero this season and has posted 10 matches with over 10 digs. Both sharing back row responsibilities, the pair of rookies combine for 470 digs.
