GOPHERS HOST BOILERMAKERS IN SATURDAY SHOWDOWN
The University of Minnesota volleyball team returns to the Sports Pavilion after a two-match road swing, Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. The Golden Gophers host the No. 16 Purdue Boilermakers for the two teams' second meeting. Purdue defeated Minnesota, 3-0, Nov. 1 in West Lafayette, Ind. All-time, Minnesota is 45-34 against the Boilermakers.

MULTIPLE EVENTS ON CAMPUS
The University of Minnesota campus will be a busy place this weekend, as several teams will play at home and the Minnesota State High School League Prep Bowl will also be played at TCF Bank Stadium. Fans attending events on campus this weekend are encouraged to plan ahead and know where they are going to park in advance of arriving on campus. It is strongly encouraged that fans looking for event-day parking on Friday and Saturday park in one of the following ramps or lots: Oak Street Ramp, Washington Ave. Ramp, Minnesota Lot and Ski-U-Mah lot ( map of these lots found here).

ON THE DOCKET

Following the Purdue match, the Gophers close out the regular season, Nov. 26 at Ohio State and home Nov. 28 vs. Indiana. The Nov. 28 match also marks senior night for Morgan Bohl and Adrianna Nora.

GOPHERS INVITED TO COMPETE IN JAPAN
The University of Minnesota volleyball team has accepted an invitation to compete at the National Training Center in Tokyo, Japan, from March 14-22, 2015. The Golden Gophers will face the All-Japan University Team, which will represent their country in this year's World University Games. Minnesota is the only United States collegiate team to ever be invited to Japan's National Training Center. This is the second time in Minnesota history that the Gopher program will compete in Japan, the first coming in August 1998.

WEDNESDAY RECAP
Minnesota earned a five-set win over Maryland in College Park, Md. Wednesday. The Gophers were paced by career-high nights from Daly Santana and Molly Lohman. Santana had a career-best 23 kills and hit a team-best .383. Santana had 23 kills, five errors in 47 swings, while also adding six digs and an ace. Lohman added a career-high 10 blocks, including six in the crucial fifth set. She also had five kills in 10 attempts.Alyssa Goehner had nine kills, followed by Sarah Wilhite with eight. Erica Handley and Katie Schau had 26 and 18 assists, while Dalianliz Rosado had a team-high 13 digs, while accomplishing two kills. As a team, Minnesota hit .279 to Maryland's .181 and out blocked the Terps 15.5-13.0. Minnesota held a 56-41 dig advantage in the win.

ABOUT THE BOILERMAKERS
Purdue enters the match with a 22-7 overall record and a 12-5 record in Big Ten play. Like Minnesota, Purdue played on Wednesday night and defeated Rutgers, 3-0. Four members of the Boilermakers have competed in all 105 sets this year, including setter/outside hitter Val Nichol. She has 134 kills, 1062 assists and 241 digs. Annie Drews has a team and Big Ten best 388 kills, followed by Sam Epenesa with 243 kills. Amanda Neill has a team best 388 digs.

TAPPS RECEIVE ACADEMIC LAURELS
University of Minnesota sophomore middle blockers Paige Tapp and Hannah Tapp have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Teams, announced by the College of Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA). Paige Tapp received first-team all-district honors, while the Hannah Tapp was named to the second-team all-district. As a first-team honoree, Paige moves onto Academic All-America voting, where first, second and third-team All-America selections will be named later this month.

MORGAN AND SELIGER SWENSON TO JOIN GOPHERS
Head coach Hugh McCutcheon has announced that Taylor Morgan (Blaine, Minn.) and Samantha Seliger Swenson (Minnetonka, Minn.) will join the Golden Gopher volleyball team. Morgan and Seliger Swenson are set to join the program for the 2015 volleyball season. Morgan, a 6-foot outside hitter, is a two-sport athlete with Blaine High School and Kokoro volleyball club. Morgan was ranked as the 89th recruit in this year's national recruiting class. In 2012, Morgan helped lead the Blaine Bengals to a state-tournament berth and was named to the state's all-tournament team.Seliger Swenson, a 5-foot, 11-inch setter from Minnetonka, Minn., comes to Minnesota as the nation's No. 8 recruit. A Prep Volleyball three-time All-American, a USA Today All-American, a two-time MaxPreps All-American, Seliger Swenson was an AVCA Under Armour First-Team All-American. With Hopkins High School, Seliger Swenson was named the 2014 Minnesota Miss Baden Volleyball, an award that goes to the top senior player in the state.

ROAD WARRIORS
The Gophers are in the midst of finishing the regular season with seven of their last 10 matches on the road. Minnesota is 8-6 away from the Sports Pavilion this season, including a 6-8 mark on opponent's home court. Minnesota's last road win came against Maryland on Wednesday.
