The University of Minnesota women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of Williams Arena for a 7 p.m. match up with Southern University Tuesday night. Prior to tip off, senior Rachel Banham will be honored for becoming the fourth Gopher in program history to score 2,000 career points.

• The Gophers welcome the Lady Jaguars to Minneapolis with a flawless 3-0 record following its first road victory of the season at Memphis, 68-62, Sunday afternoon.
• Shae Kelley led the Maroon and Gold with 20 points and eight rebounds in the contest, while Mikayla Bailey (15), Rachel Banham (14) and Amanda Zahui B. (12) each added double-figure scoring totals.
• Shae Kelley was named the Big Ten Player of the Week for her performance in the Gophers' pair of contests last week. She averaged a double-double with 20.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game, while adding a 3.0 steals-per-game average and a .630 (17-for-27) shooting percentage.
• Rachel Banham was named to the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 30 for the second-straight year. The list is made up of the top 30 student-athletes who are the front-runners for the national player of the year award.
• With 2,052 career points, Rachel Banham overtook Laura Coenen for the No. 3 spot on Minnesota's career record chart in Minnesota's win at Memphis. She needs 46 points to move into second all-time (Carol Ann Shudlick - 2,097) and needs 234 points to break Minnesota's all-time career scoring record (Lindsay Whalen - 2,285).
• Minnesota has had four players score in double figures in each of its three games this season, which includes Shae Kelley, who has posted 20+ points in each of the three of contests. She leads the Gophers with a 20.7 points per game scoring average.
• Minnesota currently ranks in the top 10 nationally in six categories, including blocks (1st), win-loss percentage (1st), defensive rebounds (4th), assists (7th), assist turnover ratio (7th) and scoring (10th).
• Southern University makes the trip to Minneapolis with a 1-3 record on the season after falling to Illinois, 62-42, Sunday afternoon on the road.
• The Gophers are 2-0 all-time when facing the Lady Jaguars, picking up a 93-41 victory in the teams' first meeting in 2003 and a 62-48 win in their last meeting in 2010.
• UP NEXT: Minnesota will travel to Fort Myers, Fla., to take part in the Gulf Coast Showcase over Thanksgiving weekend. The Gophers open play Friday against Vanderbilt, who is receiving 15 votes in this week's AP Poll.
