Tapp and Tapp Receive Academic All-District Honors

University of Minnesota sophomore middle blockers Paige Tapp (Stewartville, Minn.) and Hannah Tapp (Stewartville, Minn.) have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Teams, announced today by the College of Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA). Paige Tapp received first-team all-district honors, while the Hannah Tapp was named to the second-team all-district. As a first-team honoree, Paige moves onto Academic All-America voting, where first, second and third-team All-America selections will be named later this month.
Paige Tapp, a 6-foot, 1-inch middle blocker, is a pre-major in the Carlson School of Management. Holding a 4.0 grade point average, Tapp ranks eighth in the Big Ten in hitting percentage (.355). With 167 kills, Tapp also ranks second in the Big Ten with 1.39 blocks per set. Seeing action in 80 sets this season and all 23 matches, Tapp is also a 23-match starter. She also has 61 digs and 11 aces, all while averaging 2.97 points per set.
Hannah Tapp, a 6-foot, 2-inch middle blocker, is also a pre-major in the Carlson School of Management and holds a 3.87 GPA. Playing in 23 matches this season, including 22 starts, Hannah has 139 kills to average 1.74 per set. Ranking fourth in the Big Ten in blocks per set this year (1.26), Tapp was named a Preseason All-Big Ten as a sophomore. Primarily a front row player, Tapp is averaging 2.47 points per set and has established 25 digs this season.
