MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota women's basketball team hosts No. 1/1 South Carolina, Liberty and Central Michigan this weekend for the Subway Classic at Williams Arena. The Gophers will face Liberty Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Central Michigan Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

THE OPENING TIP - QUICK NOTES
• Both of Minnesota's contest will be streamed live on BTN Plus, while fans can listen to the Gopher Women's Basketball radio team of Corbu Stathes and Lynnette Sjoquist on 1500 ESPN Saturday againt the Flames and KBEM Jazz 88.5 FM Sunday against the Mocs.
• Live stats will be available on Gophersports.com and live updates can be found on the Gophers' official twitter page - @GophersWBB.
• First-year head coach Marlene Stollings and the Gophers enter the Subway Classic with a 9-1 record on the season following a 68-55 victory at North Dakota on Dec. 10.
• Minnesota picked up the road win despite losing senior guard Rachel Banham midway through the first half of the game with a torn ACL. Banham will miss the remainder of the 2014-15 season with the knee injury.
• Fellow senior Shae Kelley stepped up in Banham's absence to score a career-high 24 points, including 18 in the second half, to go along with nine rebounds on her way to being named to the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season.
• Amanda Zahui B. has totaled five or more blocks in five of the Gophers' first 10 games this season and currently ranks fourth nationally in blocks per game with an average of 3.7 per contest.
• Thanks to Zahui B.'s impressive number of blocks, Minnesota ranks seventh nationally with a 6.5 blocks per game team average.
• At Williams Arena this season, the Gophers are 4-0 and outscoring their opponents by nearly 15 points per game. Dating back to last season, Minnesota has won eight-straight home contests.
• This weekend will mark the first meeting between Minnesota and Liberty, while the Gophers trail Central Michigan, 0-2, in the all-time series.
• The last time the Gophers hosted the No. 1/1 team in the nation was on Dec. 4, 2001 in No. 1/1 Baylor.
