The University Aquatic Center was sold out in tonight's NCAA D1 Women's Swimming & Diving Championships Friday finals.
The Golden Gophers qualified Becca Weiland (100 fly), Jessica Plant (200 free), and their 800 free relay for NCAA finals tonight at the University Aquatic Center.
Finals
100 Fly
Junior Becca Weiland competed in the consolation finals of the 100-yard butterfly after qualifying with her trial time of 52.29. In the consolation final tonight, Weiland finished 14th with a time of 52.46.
200 Free
Jessica Plant was seeded 13th after this morning's preliminary 200 freestyle race. The junior finished the finals in 15th place with a time of 1:45.08.
3-Meter Diving
Maggie Keefer competed in the consolation three-meter finals this afternoon after prelims. The senior finished in 9th place with a score of 368.60 points. Keefer and teammate Jessica Ramberg will both be competing tomorrow in the platform diving events.
800 Free Relay
The 2014 800 Free Relay Big Ten Champions represented Minnesota tonight in the final heat. The relay team of Tori Simenec, Jessica Plant, Lauren Votava, Kiera Janzen placed 6th with a time of 7:02.43.
Current Gopher Standings
After night two of the 2014 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Minnesota has a total of 91.5 points, to hold onto 9th place.
