After last night's finals the Golden Gophers are currently in 9th place with 51.5 points, behind Florida.
Yesterday's best finishes included Maggie Keefer taking 4th in one-meter diving, and Kiera Janzen taking 7th in the 500-yard freestyle.
Preliminaries
200 Medley Relay
The relay team of Tess Behrens, Blake Zeiger, Becca Weiland, and Erin Caflisch finished the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:38.17. They placed 20th overall.
400 IM
Freshman Breanne Siwicki and sophomore Samantha Harding represented Minnesota in the 400 individual medley in the same heat during prelims. Siwicki finished with a time of 4:13.35, Harding with a 4:13.61.
100 Fly
Juniors Becca Weiland and Tori Simenec raced the 100 butterfly this morning. Simenec swam in heat 5 of 8 in the event and finished with at time of 52.36, taking third in her heat. Becca raced in heat 8 of 8, placing 16th in prelims with a time of 52.29. She will head to the finals tonight.
200 Free
Kiera Janzen, who last night finished 7th in the 500 freestyle, competed in the 200 freestyle finishing with a prelim time of 1:45.46, for 20th place. Janzen will compete in the 800 free relay tonight, and the 1650 freestyle tomorrow. Jessica Plant also raced for the Golden Gophers, with a time of 1:44.86. She placed 13th to head to the finals tonight in Minneapolis.
100 Breast
The 2014 Big Ten Champion Kierra Smith finished with a time of 1:00.21 in the 100 breaststroke prelims. She will be competing in the 200 breaststroke tomorrow, which is the sophomore's favorite event - she was also the 2014 Big Ten Champion in the 200 breast.
100 Back
Senior Tess Behrens finished her last 100 backstroke race for Minnesota with a time of 53.70.
800 Free Relay - All but last two heats of time finals
The University of Minnesota's 800 free relay team will compete tonight in head 4 of 4 with a seeded time of 7:00.04.
3-Meter Diving
Three-meter diving will kick off soon here at the University Aquatic Center. Minnesota's Maggie Keefer and Jessica Ramberg will compete. Consolation finals will begin shortly after prelims, with the top eight scores advancing to the championships finals tonight after the 100 backstroke finals.
