Laguna Finishes Tied for Fourth in Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. (Gophersports.com) - Carmen Laguna tied for fourth individually on Saturday as the University of Minnesota women's golf program finished fifth at the Mountain View Collegiate Invitational at MountainView Golf Course in Tucson Arizona.
Laguna closed out the competition with a one-over 73 in Saturday's third and final round to finish the event with an even par (72-71-73-216) as the Gophers' top finisher. Emie Peronnin was six over (72-76-74-222) to tie for 23rd in the individual competition.
Sarinee Thitiratanakorn (74-77-74-225, nine over) came in 34th while Anna Laorr was one shot back in a tie for 35th at 10 over (75-76-75-226). Banchalee Theinthong closed out the Gophers' contingency in a tie for 48th (77-78-73-228) while Taylor Quinn finished tied for 55th (76-71-83-230) as an individual competitor.
The Gophers finished the two-day tournament with an 887 team score and were 13 shots back from Nebraska - the team medal winner this weekend in Tucson. Minnesota (293-300-294-887, 23 over) were just three shots back from Gonzaga in fourth. Kent State and Missouri rounded out the top five. Gonzaga's Alice Kim won the tournament with a six-under 210.
