Gophers Tied for Eighth After Two Rounds

FRENCH LICK, Ind. (Gophersports.com) - Carmen Laguna and Anna Laorr both fired 76s on Saturday and find themselves tied for 16th at the 2014 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships to lead the University of Minnesota.
The Gophers sit tied for eighth after two rounds of play after shooting a 312 (24 over par) on Saturday. Minnesota (309-312-621, 45 over par) is tied with Wisconsin (316-305-621) while Michigan State (305-293-598) and Ohio State (301-297-598) are tied for the team lead at 22 over par.
Laguna and Laorr have matched each other in both rounds so far at the Pete Dye Course at the French Lick Resort. After matching 78s on Friday in the opening round, the pair improved their standings with 76s today and sit at 154 (10 over par) with one round to play.
Meanwhile, Sarinee Thitiratanakorn (75-80-155, 11 over par) sits tied for 25th followed by Banchalee Theinthong (78-84-162, 18 over par) in a tie for 57th. Freshmen Emie Peronnin (84-80-164, 20 over par) and Sophie Kitchen (83-85-168, 24 over par) round out the Gophers contingency in 61st and tied for 65th, respectively.
Ohio State's Zoe-Beth Brake (74-71-145) and Jessica Porvasnik (73-72-145) are tied for the individual lead at one under par.
The Pete Dye Course at the French Lick Resort plays as a Par 72 with a yardage of 6,017.
The third and final round of the 2014 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships is set for Sunday morning.
