Three Gophers Honored for Academics

Alex Gaugert, Tyler Lowenstein and Jon Trasamar have been named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars.

To be eligible for this honor, a Division I golfer must be a junior or senior academically, compete at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in at least 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.00 and maintain a GPA of 3.2 or better.

Trasamar and Gaugert, both seniors in 2014, competed in all 36 of the Gophers' tournament rounds. Trasamar tied for third at the Big Ten Championships and was second on the team with a stroke average of 73.92. Gaugert was close behind with a 73.97 scoring average, and tied for 20th at the conference championship.

Lowenstein, a junior in the spring, played 22 rounds including the Big Ten Championships. He held a stroke average of 75.32 and will begin his senior season this fall.
