B1G Golfers to Watch List Released

Mendez, a sophomore, tied for first at the 2014 Big Ten Championships. The GCAA All-Freshman selection and Big Ten Freshman of the Year led the Golden Gophers with a 71.97 stroke average. Mendez won three tournaments as a freshman and posted seven top-10 finishes overall.
DuToit is one of two upperclassmen on Minnesota's roster. The junior tied for 12th at the Big Ten Championships last season. DuToit started 10 tournaments with a scoring average of 74.06. He had one top-10 and three top-20 finishes.
Arnorsson joins the Gophers out of Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. He is one of his country's top-ranked golfers and has represented Team Iceland in international tournaments around the world.
Minnesota begins its season Sept. 7-8 with the Gopher Invitational. The tournament will take place at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn. Admission is free.
