The University of Minnesota women's soccer team (RV) fell for the second time at the Rebel Class as the Auburn Tigers scored two goals in the last 12 minutes of the game to defeat the Maroon and Gold. With the loss, the Gophers fall to 3-3-0 on the season.

Minnesota fell behind early as the Tigers scored first thanks to a goal from Courtney Schell assisted by Brooke Ramsier. The Tigers, who earned four corners on the afternoon, were able to score as Schell headed the ball past Mara Dougherty to put Auburn on the board.

Freshman Rachel McCloskey scored the equalizer in the 33rd minute of play as she headed a Becca Roberts free kick from 40 yards out into the right near post. This goal broke Auburn's 300 minute shutout streak and put the Gophers back in the game going into halftime.

As the second half began, both teams were anxious to gain the upperhand but the Tigers prevailed late in the second half after two goals from Auburn ultimately led to their 3-1 victory in the second to last game of the Rebel Classic.

The Gophers trailed in shots (17-8) and corners (4-2).

The Maroon and Gold will travel to Michigan and Michigan State next weekend to open conference play. This will be the Gophers second weekend in a row on the road and last before taking on Iowa at home on Sept. 20.
