ROSEMONT, Ill. -- After leading the University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team to its first conference win of the 2015 season over No. 21 Michigan State, junior Lindsay Mable was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week by the league office. Mable won balance beam and floor exercise outright while sharing the vault title with Michigan State's Deans. The Big Ten Conference also honored Nebraska's Ashley Lambert as Event Specialist of the Week and Penn State's Briannah Tsang as Freshman of the Week.

The award marks the tenth weekly honor of Mable's storied collegiate career and the 22nd Gymnast of the Week accolade for the Gophers since the award began recognizing student-athletes on a weekly basis in 1999. Mable is the ninth different Gopher to earn the award and won Big Ten Freshman of the Week six times in 2013. She is one of three gymnasts in 2015 to repeat as weekly honor recipients.

In the Gophers' victory over No. 21 Michigan State, Mable recorded a 9.925 on both balance beam and floor, her highest season scores to date. Mable earned a 9.900 on vault and a 9.825 on the uneven bars. The Colorado Gymnastics Institute alumnae tallied a 39.575 to pick up her fourth-consecutive all-around crown.

In 2014, Mable registered 25 event wins and 10 all-around titles in 14 team meets before winning the all-around at the Minneapolis NCAA Regional to qualify for the national all-around competition. The two-time All-American is a two-time First Team All-Big Ten selection and was named to the 2015 Preseason Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch list prior to the start of the 2015 season. Mable has also earned Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors last academic year.
