MINNEAPOLIS - The No. 11 University of Minnesota women's soccer team returns back to Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium this weekend for a pair of Big Ten games against Michigan State and Michigan.

Thursday's match will begin at 7:00 p.m. against the Spartans and on Sunday, the Gophers will kick things off against the Wolverines at 1:00 p.m.

After defeating Nebraska and Iowa last week, the Gophers are 11-2-2 overall and 6-1-0 in Big Ten play.

LAST TIME OUT
Last Thursday, the Maroon and Gold traveled to Lincoln, Neb. to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

After falling the previous week to the Wisconsin Badgers 1-0 off a penalty kick decision, junior co-captain converted a foul in the box to lift the Gophers six minutes into play.

In the 28th-minute, Kolander found the back of the net off service from sophomore Sydney Squires. Kolander's goal was her ninth of the season and officially made her the leading scorer in the Big Ten.

Squires answered with a goal of her own in the 75th minute to bring the final score to 3-0, Minnesota.

On Sunday, the Gophers took to Iowa City for a match-up with the Iowa Hawkeyes,

Both teams would play an extremely physical game on both sides of the ball to enter half knotted at zero.

In the 55th-minute, Kolander continued her scoring streak as she netted one off an assist from freshman April Bockin. Kolander's goal was her 10th of the season and Bockin's fourth assist.

With four minutes left to go, redshirt senior Taylor Stainbrook found service from junior Josee Stiever to bring the final tally 2-0, Minnesota.

On the season, the Golden Gophers defense have eight shutouts, which ties them for 17th in the nation and 2nd in the Big Ten.

THE OPPONENTS
The Michigan State Spartans enter the weekend with a record of 6-3-4 overall and 2-2-2 in B1G action.

Last week, the Spartans tied with the Fighting Illini of Illinois in double overtime and fell to Northwestern, 1-0.

The Michigan Wolverines have a record of 10-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the conference.

Michigan comes off a weekend of double wins over Northwestern and Illinois, 1-0 and 3-1, respectively.

THIS WEEK'S RANKINGS
In the NSCAA rankings this week, Minnesota moved up from No. 14 back to No. 11. The Maroon and Gold still currently sit atop the Big Ten.

The rankings order the top five in the nation as Florida State, University of Virginia, West Virginia, Stanford University and Brigham Young University.
