Minnesota Qualifies for Big Ten Championship

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota women's soccer team has qualified for the Big Ten Championships and will face Rutgers University in the quarterfinal round to be played this Sunday.
The Gophers, seeded sixth in the tournament, will head back to New Jersey to face the Scarlet Knights who earned the third seed.
The Maroon and Gold completed the regular-season with an overall record of 11-5-3 and 6-4-1 in Big Ten play.
Penn State finished the regular-season with an 8-2-1 conference record and earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament. The Nittany Lions will host No. 8 Illinois on Sunday.
Earning the second seed in the tournament is the Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin ended the season with an 8-2-1 record and a share of the Big Ten Championship with Penn State. The Badgers will face No. 7 Ohio State in the third quarterfinal match.
The Northwestern Wildcats finished the season with a 7-3-1 conference record and earned the No. 4 seed. The Wildcats will take on the No. 5 Michigan Wolverines on Sunday.
Following the quarterfinals, the Big Ten Women’s Soccer Tournament will continue with semifinals on Friday, Nov. 6. The Championship game will be played on Sunday, Nov. 8. The semifinals and championship match will be hosted by the highest remaining seeds.
Semifinals will air live on BTN on Nov. 6, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. ET and 6:00 p.m. ET, and the Championship Match will air live on BTN on Nov. 8, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. ET
