After a successful first season with the Gophers, Luke Pettersen enters his sophomore season on campus. Pettersen hit .280 with a pair of RBI and swiped a bag in his freshman campaign and will look to improve on those numbers heading into the 2016 season. Gopher Sports recently sat down with the Minnetonka, Minn. native.
Gopher Sports: What are you looking forward to this season?
Luke Pettersen: Fighting for a big ten championship and NCAA tournament appearance with my teammates.
GS: What is your favorite baseball movie of all-time?
LP: Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch.
GS: What is one MLB stadium you would like to go watch a game in and why?
LP: Minute Maid Park because it has a lot of cool features.
GS: If you could face any hitter/pitcher in the majors, who would it be and why?
LP: Aroldis Chapman because it would be amazing to face 104 mph.
GS: What is your go-to walk-up song?
LP: I Can - Nas
GS: Why did you choose the University of Minnesota?
LP: It's a great academic school and I love the culture of the baseball program and its prominent history.
GS: Do you have any special talents outside of baseball?
LP: I can draw a perfect free hand circle.
