With just about a month left of the fall semester and fall ball over we are catching up with some of the Gophers the next couple months before we get into the heart of the spring season. First on the docket is senior catcher Brandi McGregor.
Gopher Sports: How has the semester gone for you so far? How do you feel fall ball went?
Brandi McGregor: The semester has gone very well for me so far. Since I am taking courses that pertain to my major, I enjoy my classes a lot more. I think fall ball went great. It was awesome to see everyone come back from the summer prepared and ready to go for the fall.
GS: With Thanksgiving around the corner will you be able to get down to your hometown in Georgia to see some family and friends? Also very important, favorite Thanksgiving meal food?
BM: I am able to go home to Georgia for Thanksgiving this year. Since I am from out of state, I do not get to see my family that often so I am looking forward to spending time with them. My favorite food for Thanksgiving, besides the turkey of course, has to be my mom's homemade corn casserole.
GS: What would you do if you won a million dollars today?
BM: This sounds very nerdy of me, but if I were to win a million dollars I would probably invest most of it. After investing most of it, I would love to travel around Europe. It's always been a dream of mine to backpack Europe so I would want to do that, but I would stay in hotels rather than hostels like most backpackers do.
GS: What actor/actress would you choose to portray you in a movie and why?
BM: If I had to choose an actress to portray me in a movie, I would choose Melissa McCarthy because she is one of my favorite actresses. She is hilarious and I'm always crying with laughter anytime I watch her movies.
GS: If you could go on vacation with any teammate who would you choose and why? Also where would you go?
BM: If I could go on vacation with any teammate, I would choose (Taylor) LeMay because she is easy going and would not bother me while we were on vacation. She also enjoys tanning as much as I do so we would definitely have to go to a beach somewhere in the Caribbean.
GS: Teammates say when you get ahold of the ball to watch out and you proved that in fall ball by smacking a home run in the last game. How was it to hit that home run and how can your strong hitting help impact the team this season?
BM: It felt great. I have been out the past couple year due to injuries so it is awesome to get back and to go all out. I know I will be given my opportunities to help the team out this season and I just need to stay prepared for when those moments come.
GS: What are you most looking forward to this season?
BM: I have a few things I am looking forward to this upcoming season. What I am looking forward to most this season is being able to compete for another Big Ten title, traveling to warm weather and being with the team. It is my last year to take it all in so I am definitely trying to make the most of it.
