Box Score (PDF) | Quotes Rachel Banham scored 30 points as one of four Gophers in double figures in a 91-64 win against Maine. Minnesota shot 54.7 percent for the game as it moved to 2-0 on the season. The win at Williams Arena was also the Gophers' second straight 90-point performance.




The Gophers shot 50 percent (17-34) in the first half, and 60 percent (18-30) in the second. They shot an even 50 percent (13-26) from behind the 3-point line. Minnesota has made 29 3-pointers through its first two games.

Banham shot 10-for-15 from the field, including a 6-for-9 clip from 3-point distance. She scored 16 points in the first quarter alone, including 4-for-5 3-point shooting. With 2,231 career points, the senior guard is now 55 points away from breaking Lindsay Whalen's program scoring record.

Sophomore Jessie Edwards notched a double-double in her second career start. She scored 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting and led the team with 16 rebounds.

Carlie Wagner scored 23 points and hit four 3-pointers. Mikayla Bailey joined the double-digit scoring with 11 points, and hit two of her three triples during a late-game run for the Gophers.
Shayne Mullaney dished out 10 assists for the seventh time in her career. She moved past Emily Fox into fourth on Minnesota's career list with 422 total assists.

Three-point shooting was a strength for both teams. While the Gophers went made 13 of 26 attempts, the Black Bears' 11-of-31 3-point success rate helped keep them in the game.

Minnesota led 46-37 at halftime. Late in the third quarter, Maine cut the lead to three before Minnesota regained control with an 18-0 run. The run spanned from the 2:45 mark of the third to the 7:21 mark of the fourth.

Up next for Minnesota is its first road game of the year at Kent State. Tipoff on Tuesday, Nov. 24 is set for 5:30 p.m. Central.
