Six Gophers Invited to USA Camp

MINNEAPOLIS - Three current Gophers and three Minnesota alumni are among the 37 players invited to the 2015 USA Hockey Women's Winter Training Camp set for Sunday, Dec. 27 through Friday, Jan. 1 at Schwan's Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.
Gophers Sydney Baldwin, Lee Stecklein, and Cara Piazza will join alumni Megan Bozek, Gigi Marvin, and Anne Schleper at the camp. The roster includes 12 defensemen, 20 forwards, and five goaltenders.
All practices and scrimmages at the 2015 USA Hockey Women's Winter Training Camp will be open to the public. Three scrimmages are scheduled for 5:15 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, and 8:45 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1.
Bozek, Marvin, Schleper, and Stecklein are among 15 members of the silver medal-winning 2014 U.S. Women's Olympic Ice Hockey Team on the camp roster, which includes 23 world champions as well.
Reagan Carey, USA Hockey's director of women's hockey, will oversee the camp and Ken Klee will serve as head coach. Klee will be assisted by Robb Stauber, Chris Tamer and Brett Strot.
