Bockin Tabbed No. 36 freshman in the country

Three Gophers Land Within National Top 100

MINNEAPOLIS - Three University of Minnesota women's soccer players landed within TopDrawerSoccer.com's Postseason Women's National Top 100 list.

Junior co-captain Simone Kolander was named No. 47 within the upperclassmen while freshmen April Bockin and Molly Fiedler were named No. 36 and 85, respectively, on the Top Freshmen list.

Along with being named No. 47 in the country, Kolander earned NSCAA All-American status as well as All-Great Lakes Region First Team honors.

The junior closed a storied 2015 campaign with collecting a bevy of awards, including B1G Offensive Player of the Week (9/22), the second B1G weekly laurel of her career after contributing the game-winning goals to the Gopher's 2-1 victory over Ohio State and the 1-0 win over the Nittany Lions of Penn State, the 2015 NCAA Champions. Kolander was also named the espnW Player of the Week (9/23), Big Ten Forward of the Year and was named to the Big Ten Conference First Team.

Bockin, the No. 36 Freshman in the Nation, started in 18 games of her rookie campaign. She fed five assists and scored two goals with a total of 30 shots on the season. After her standout performance on the road against Marquette and Texas Tech, Bockin was named the B1G Co-Freshman of the Week (9/28).

Fiedler, who landed at the No. 85 spot, started in each game for the Gophers in her rookie season. She tallied three assists, 13 shots with five on goal. She made back-to-back assists in the Gophers' 3-1 victory of Purdue and the 3-1 result vs. Indiana. At the Maroon and Gold's final home game of the regular season, Fiedler assisted sophomore Sydney Squires' in the match's lone goal.
