Postgame Quotes
NJIT at Minnesota
Head Coach Marlene Stollings
On quarters 2 and 3 setting the tone for the game…
"That's good for us to see because that second quarter sometimes has been a lull for us. It was pretty dominant tonight."
On fast break opportunities…
"That's been back to back games for us. That's been a focus for us in practice. And it was good carryover into the game."
On great passing for fast break opportunities….
"That was exciting to see. Obviously Rachel (Banham) sees the floor very well. Carlie (Wagner) got out there a couple times. Those get the fans involved. They love those kinds of passes. Great execution.
On opening the Big Ten season at Rutgers this Thursday...
"It's an exciting part of the year. The next two months is where separation occurs, and we're going into it 8-3. It's a good place to be in terms of our goals in getting an NCAA Tournament, and getting Rachel there for the first time. So everything remains intact for us, and a great opportunity at Rutgers here."
Senior Guard Rachel Banham
On the game…
"It was good. I'm glad that we got the win. I think we still have a lot of things that we need to work on. Going into Rutgers is going to be huge, but it's good to get a win under our belts and having that confidence on the road."
On player-to-player defense…
"We've really been working on our defense. Getting more deflections is huge, and getting those steals, and pushing out we got to score on transition more. We can't rely only on our half-court offense. So that's been something we've really been focusing on."
