Charlie Duensing and Riley Johnson cooled off a little after leading Minnesota on the first day, shooting a 78 and 80, respectively, on Monday. Duensing is tied for 45th, while Johnson and Jon DuToit are tied for 53rd. Rúnar Arnorsson shot the team's second-best score Moday, a 76, but is tied for 60th overall.

The Minnesota men's golf team is tied for 12th after 36 holes of the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande. Sophomore Jose Mendez carded a 2-under-par 70 on Monday to move to even for the tournament. He is tied for 18th individually at Rio Mar Country Club.
Mendez birdied three holes and bogeyed one in the second round. He is five shots behind the leaders-Georgia's Lee McCoy and Sepp Straka and Clemson's Miller Capps-and two shots out of the top 10.
