Last Friday, Minnesota hosted Iowa in front of an electric crowd of 13,630 at Williams Arena, the second-largest audience to ever witness a Gopher/Hawkeye dual.

Four Gophers picked up victories in the dual. Appropriately, all four were seniors on what also served as Senior Night for Gopher Wrestling. It began with No. 6 Scott Schiller at 197, who secured a match-winning takedown right at the third period horn to defeat No. 3 Nathan Burak, 3-1. At 133, No. 1 Chris Dardanes remained undefeated on the season and picked up his team-best eighth win over a ranked opponent when he defeated No. 5 Cory Clark, 5-3. No. 4 Nick Dardanes make it two straight for the Dardanes brothers when he won his match at 141, 7-3, over No. 5 Josh Dziewa. The dual ended with No. 1 Dylan Ness finishing a big, four-point move in the third period of his match against No. 15 Michael Kelly to complete an exciting comeback victory, 11-9.

Iowa took the dual, 23-12, snapping Minnesota's 17-match dual meet winning streak. The loss is only the second for Minnesota in its last 31 duals. The Gophers look to begin a new winning streak this weekend with a pair of road duals, first at Ohio State at 6 p.m. CT on Friday night, then at Maryland at 12 p.m. CT on Sunday afternoon. Both matches will be streamed live on BTN Plus.
