ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Minnesota women's golf team stands in eighth place following the first and second rounds of the BYU Entrada Classic, contested Monday at the par-72, 6,146-yard Entrada at Snow Canyon course.

Minnesota sits at 28-over (298-306--604), two strokes ahead of Texas State and five behind seventh-place Kansas State. California leads the field at eight-under-par 568.



Leading the way for the Gophers is senior Anna Laorr, who followed up an even-par first round with a two-under 70 to tie for fifth place after the first day (70-72--142). Fellow senior Carmen Laguna is tied for 26th at six-over-par (75-75--150), while sophomore Emie Peronnin is tied for 58th place (72-87--159) at +15. Freshman Celia Kuenster is one of two players at +18, tied for 66th (85-77--162). Freshman Sabrine Garrison is one stroke behind at +19 (79-84--163), in a tie for 68th place.



Freshman Heather Ciskowski competed individually and is tied for 79th at +28 (84-88--172) after 36 holes of competition.



San Francisco's Vanessa Ha leads the field at six-under-par, four strokes ahead of Laorr.



The BYU Entrada Classic wraps up Tuesday with a 9:00 a.m. CT shotgun start.
