After posting a top-10 finish at the BYU Entrada Classic this week, senior Anna Laorr was recognized by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday as its women's golfer of the week.
It is the first weekly honor for the Eden Prairie, Minn., native and the second for the Gophers this year, after freshman Celia Kuenster earned the same award on October 29.
Laorr tied for eighth place at the Entrada Classic with a two-over-par 218. In the first day of competition in Utah, she posted scores of even-par 72 and two-under 70 and finished with a 76 in Tuesday's final round. The combined score and finish was her best of the spring season to date.
Through the Gophers' three spring tournaments, Laorr is leading the team with a 73.67 stroke average, and her finish at the BYU Entrada Classic is the highest among teammates this spring.
Laorr and the Gophers return to action in two weeks at the Web.com Intercollegiate, taking place on March 30-31 at Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
