Gophers Travel to Web.com Intercollegiate

The University of Minnesota women's golf team will travel to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. this Monday and Tuesday for the two-day Web.com Intercollegiate tournament.
Held at the par-72, 5,967-yard Marsh Landing Country Club, the 54-hole tournament will be contested over 36 holes played on Monday and the remaining 18 on Tuesday.
The University of North Florida Ospreys and Jacksonville University Dolphins will cohost the tournament. Joining the Gophers in the field are Big Ten foes Illinois and Ohio State along with Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, Daytona State, Florida State, James Madison, Kennesaw State, McNeese State, Miami, Sam Houston State, Texas State, Texas Tech and Toledo also set to compete.
Play is set to begin both days at 8:30 a.m. ET with a shotgun start.Â

Last season, Minnesota finished tied for sixth with Louisville overall, 20-over-par at the 54-hole competition (287-293-304--884). Florida State nabbed the team title at 13-under-par (-13, 288-280-283--851).
For the Gophers, Banchalee Theinthong led in scoring and tied for 13th (+1, 68-75-74--217).Â
One shot behind was Anna Laorr (+2, 74-69-75--218) whose score was good for a tie for 15th. Carmen Laguna placed tied for 25th (+5, 70-75-76--221) while Emie Peronnin (+14, 76-74-80) tied withSarinee Thitiratankorn (+14, 75-76-79--230) in 62nd place to round out the lineup.Â
The tournament's individual title went to Florida State's Matilda Castren who fired 12-under-par (-12, 69-66-69--204).
Last Time Out - BYU Entrada Classic
Two weekends ago, the Gophers traveled to St. George, Utah for the BYU Entrada Classic. The team finished four shots ahead of ninth-place Texas State at 45-over-par (+45, 298-306-305--909).
Peronnin matched her career low after firing a 69 the final round and ended 12-over par, good to tie for 32nd place (+12, 72-87-69--228).Â
Laorr and Laguna both earned top-20 placements. Laorr finished in a four-way tie for eighth, four-over-par (+4, 72-70-76--218). Laguna finished among six others in a tie for 19th place at 11-over-par (+11, 75-75-75--225).
Looking Ahead
The Gophers will finish out their regular season competition as they head to Napa, Calif. for the two-day Silverado Showdown beginning on April 13.Â
