MIAMI -
Sophomore Emie Peronnin's one-under-par 70 helped lead the Minnesota women's golf team to a fifth-place finish, as action wrapped up Wednesday at the Miami Hurricane Invitational at the Biltmore Golf Course.

The Gophers finished with a team score of +26 (293-295-290--878), moving up the team leaderboard two spots after the final 18 holes. Northwestern took home the title with a seven-over-par 859.

Peronnin's round, a season low, helped her to a tie for 13th place at five-over-par (73-75-70--218), a career best finish. Joining her in the top-25 were seniors Carmen Laguna (76-72-72--220) and Anna Laorr (71-73-76--220), each finishing in a tie for 21st at seven-over-par. Two strokes back was freshman Celia Kuenster, who tied for 33rd at nine-over-par (73-75-74--222). Fellow freshman Sabrine Garrison rounded out the lineup with a 52nd-place finish at 13-over (77-75-74--226).

Freshman Heather Ciskowski competed individually and tied for 56th at 14-over-par (77-76-74--227).

Individual medalist honors went to Daytona State's Tiffany Chan at one-under-par (71-71-70--212).

Minnesota returns to action in two weeks, taking part in the BYU Entrada Classic in St. George, Utah.
