MINNEAPOLIS - Big Ten pentathlon champion Jess Herauf will represent the Golden Gopher women's track & field team at the 2015 NCAA Division I Indoor Championships next weekend, March 13-14th in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Herauf will compete in the pentathlon at the NCAA indoor meet for the second-straight season. She enters the 2015 indoor championship seeded fifth with 4,361 points after placing ninth and earning second-team All-American honors a year ago. Top-seeded Kendall Williams of Georgia leads with 4,609 points.

Heraufscored a Minnesota program record 4,361 points at the 2015 Big Ten Championship to take home her first B1G title. She was just five points shy of the Big Ten Conference record of 4,366, and she set a SPIRE Institute facility record.

The Dickinson, N.D., nativewon three of the five B1G pentathlon events, leading the way in the shot put (13.43m), 800m (2:14.36) and the long jump with a career-best 6.02m to move into fifth among all-time Gophers. She also climbed in Minnesota's all-time ranks with a career-best 8.67 in the 60m hurdles. Herauf's 4,361 points also included a third-place showing in the high jump at 1.71m.

A redshirt junior, Herauf first broke the Gophers' pentathlon record at the Jack Johnson Classic earlier this season, knocking off Liz Roehrig's mark of 4,218 points from 2008. Herauf is Minnesota's first Big Ten pentathlon champion since Roehrig won four-straight Big Ten pentathlon titles from 2005-2008.

At the NCAA meet, Herauf will compete alongside four other Big Ten athletes, Georgia Ellenwood of Wisconsin (10th with 4,223 points), Aaron Howell of Michigan (18th with 4,115 points), Melissa-Maree Farrington of Nebraska (21st with 4,081 points) and Jasmine Glover of Ohio State (34th with 3,896).

The 2015 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be streamed live on ESPN3 beginning at 6 p.m. CT on both March 13 and 14. A tape delay broadcast is scheduled to air on ESPNU at 6 p.m. CT on Monday, March 23. To access the live stream, visit ESPN3.com.
