Berkholtz, Domski Lead Gophers at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa -- All four Gophers set career-best marks in their events as the Minnesota women's track & field team kicked off the weekend at the Drake Relays Thursday evening.
Liz Berkholtz moved into seventh in program history with a personal-best time of 16:26.17 in the 5,000-meter run. She placed fourth to lead the Gophers. Becca Dyson also set a career-best time of 16:35.98 for 11th place.
Lauren Domski clocked a 2:09.00 in the 800-meter run, the fastest 800m time by a Gopher so far this season, setting a new career-best time and placing sixth in the unseeded section.
Megan Bailey also recorded a personal-best time, finishing her first collegiate 10,000-meter run in 37:30.28.
The Gophers also placed fifth in the 4x1600m relay. The team of Ally McSherry, Haley Johnson, Berkholtz and Kaila Urick clocked a time of 19:24.88 to rank 10th in program history. Oklahoma State won the 4x1600m relay in 18:58.11, breaking the previous Drake Relays meet record of 18:58.82 set by Gophers Nikki Swenson, Elizabeth Yetzer, Megan Duwell and Gabriele Anderson in 2010.
Action at the Drake Relays continues through Sunday. The Gophers are set to compete in the 4x800m relay on Friday and the distance medley relay and the 3,000m steeple chase on Saturday.
