Gophers Tied for Eighth After Two Rounds

INDIANAPOLIS - After 36 holes at the 2015 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships, the Minnesota women's golf team stands tied for eighth place with one round remaining at the Fort Golf Course.
The Gophers (298-307--605, +29) are in a deadlock with Illinois and trailing seventh place Maryland by four strokes.
Individually, sophomore Emie Peronnin remained among the top-20, tied for 19th place with a score of five-over-par 149 (73-76). Two strokes back is senior Carmen Laguna, tied for 32nd with a score of seven-over (75-76--151). One stroke behind is freshman Sabrine Garrison at eight-over-par (73-79--152). Senior Anna Laorr fired a second-round 76 and is among a three-way tie for 51st place (78-76--154, +10).
Rounding out the Gopher lineup is freshman Celia Kuenster (77-79--156) and senior Sarinee Thitiratanakorn (78-70--157), who are tied for 57th and 63rd, respectively.
Maryland's Juliet Vongphoumy and Ohio State's Jan Chanpalangsri are atop the individual leaderboard at one-under-par, with the Buckeyes holding a five-shot lead at three-under-par heading into the final round.
Sunday's final round begins at 8:00 a.m. eastern time, with the Gophers in the first six pairings.
