Eight days after leaving Dinkytown for the first leg of the tour, the 2015 Gopher Road Trip wrapped up last Wednesday, marking the end to the annual adventure that takes Gopher head coaches and administrators around greater Minnesota to meet with Gopher fans throughout the state.

"As it is every year, this year's Gopher Road Trip was a wonderful experience for everyone from Gopher Athletics, and hopefully for our fans as well," said Director of Athletics Norwood Teague. "Connecting with passionate Gopher fans around greater Minnesota is an energizing experience. We have an incredible fan base that stretches into every corner of the state. The opportunity to meet some of these fans and say thanks is what makes the Gopher Road Trip special for us."

More than 20 head and assistant coaches representing almost every Gopher program hit the road this year, speaking at eight social events and making pit stops in five additional Minnesota towns along the way. The additional stops were a new addition to this year's Gopher Road Trip, creating more opportunities to engage with fans in towns along the trip's planned route. These stops included a pop-in at a local coffee shop, a tour of a rural fire department and the chance to sign autographs and play games with students at three different elementary schools.

The two legs of this year's Gopher Road Trip, one two-day voyage to western and northern Minnesota and a second two-day excursion around southern Minnesota, covered nearly 1,000 miles of highways and Main Streets across the state. This year's full lineup of stops, in chronological order, were: Delano, Spicer, Brooten, Alexandria, Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids, Wabasha, Winona, Lewiston, Rochester, Mankato, Nicollet and Hutchinson.
