Annual Golf Open Scheduled for Sept. 28

MINNEAPOLIS - The third annual Gopher Men's Golf and Gopher Women's Hockey Golf Open will be held Monday, Sept. 28 at North Oaks Golf Club in North Oaks, Minn.
Fans are invited to join the Gophers for a day of golf, food, and fun at the tournament benefiting the Gophers men's golf and women's hockey programs. The event will include a mid-afternoon golf tournament, dinner, and live and silent auctions. Head coaches John Carlson and Brad Frost and both teams' staffs and student-athletes will be in attendance.
Registration is now open and includes green fees, golf cart, range balls, gift package, lunch, dinner, mulligans and a donation to both programs. Please see the link above for registration and sponsorship opportunities.
Registration and check-in will run from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on the day of the event. The golf competition will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will consist of two formats, best ball and scramble. Teams will choose which format they would like to compete in during registration. A social hour, live and silent auctions, raffle, and dinner will follow the tournament.
All proceeds from the event directly support each program's service funds. Teams use these funds to supplement their budgets for acquiring goods and services that otherwise would be unaffordable. The ability to acquire these items enhances the experiences of current and future student-athletes at the University of Minnesota. The event will be limited to the first 144 paid registrations. To help eliminate confusion, golfers are encouraged to send one paid registration form per team. Teams of less than four will be paired up by the tournament committee. The tournament will take place rain or shine.
