Gopher Wrestling visits State Fair on Tuesday

Gopher Wrestling returns to the Great Minnesota Get-Together this Tuesday, with Head Coach J Robinson and a quarter of Gopher wrestlers scheduled to appear. The group will take the stage outside the University of Minnesota building at 1:30 p.m., where they'll preview the upcoming season and answer questions from the audience.
"Coming to the State Fair is a great chance for fans to meet the staff and some of the wrestlers face-to-face, and for us to get to know our fans better," said Robinson. "It also gives fans a chance to ask us some questions, and learn what's happening this summer and what's coming up for the year. It's a fun event and we hope to see fans out there."
Redshirt juniors Michael Kroells and Brett Pfarr, along with redshirt sophomores Nick Wanzek and Jake Short, will join Coach Robinson to represent the team at the Fair. All four are born and bred Minnesotans who understand the spectacle of the Minnesota State Fair and its significance in the state's culture.
"In high school I went [to the Fair] with my friends a lot, it was a good tradition. I always grab the big bucket of cookies and the unlimited milk," said Wanzek, who grew up in Inver Grove Height, Minn. "I'm excited to get out there on Tuesday and get to know the fans a little better since I was new last year. It will be exciting and fun to show them who we are - and eat some cookies."
The University of Minnesota Building is located at the corner of Dan Patch Avenue and Underwood Streets. Be sure to stop by and check out everything that's happening with the U of M, but also ask about the exclusive State Fair ticket specials for many Gopher sporting events, including wrestling.
