Freshman Q&A: Morgan Justus

Diver Morgan Justus just wrapped her first week of classes at the University of Minnesota. She joins the Gophers from Grand Rapids, Minnesota and competed for Grand Rapids High School. She wrapped her high school diving career as the All-Area Girls Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Year by the Grand Rapids Herald-Review, Hibbing Daily Tribune and Mesabi Daily News. Justus broke school and section records, as well as two top-five finishes at the state meet.
GopherSports: Why did you choose the University of Minnesota?
Morgan Justus: I loved the campus and its academics have a good reputation. I also loved the team and knew that Coach Wenbo Chen could help me to become the best diver I can be.
GopherSports: What are you looking forward to the most with starting your collegiate career as a Golden Gopher?
Justus: Being on a Division I team, meeting new people and improving my diving.
GopherSports: Thus far, what has been your best or most proud diving memory?
Justus: Having the opportunity to dive for the University of Minnesota.
GopherSports: What do you like to do for fun outside of the pool?
Justus: I enjoy snowmobiling, waterskiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
GopherSports: How do you think you will contribute to the Gopher swimming and diving program?
Justus: By giving 110% every day to become the best diver I can be, and by encouraging my new teammates to do the same.
