Kuenster Leads Minnesota Invite After Two Rounds

First and Second Round Results 
MINNEAPOLIS - Sophomore Celia Kuenster fired an opening-round 68 followed by an even-par 72 to climb to the top of the leaderboard after two rounds at the 2015 Minnesota Invitational. Kuenster finished the day at four-under-par 140, one shot clear of a three-way tie for second place. As a team, the host Gophers stand fifth in their season-opening tourney.
Kuenster matched her low round as a collegian to set the pace for the Gophers. Classmate Sabrine Garrison was tied for 26th after shooting a seven-over-par 151 (76-75), with fellow sophomore Heather Ciskowski two strokes back in a tie for 32nd at nine-over-par (71-82-153).
Freshman Muyu Wu made her Gopher debut and tied for 40th at +13 (79-76-155), while junior Emie Peronnin rounded out the lineup in 61st place (77-86-163, +21).
Three Gophers competed as individuals, highlighted by freshmen Maggie Heggerston (76-81-157) and Niamh Ward (74-83-157) who tied for 49th in their collegiate debuts. Sophomore Alexandra Buska sits 67th after 36 holes (99-85-184, +40).
Purdue leads the team standings at 10-over-par (287-299-586).
The Minnesota Invitational concludes Tuesday morning, with the third and final round scheduled for a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start at the Minikahda Club.
