The No. 23 University of Minnesota volleyball team earned a 3-0 win over College of Charleston, 25-21, 25-17 and 25-23 to win the tournament. With the win, the Golden Gophers improve to 8-2 on the season.
 Daly Santana was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player for the second straight weekend. Paige Tapp and Molly Lohman also garnered all-tournament honors.
 Minnesota hit .257 to Charleston's .202, out blocked the Cougars, 9-7, held a 47-39 kill advantage, while it had six aces and 45 digis.
 Santana had 13 kills and tied a team-high 11 digs. Paige Tapp and Alyssa Goehner both had 11 kills, while Tapp also hit .421. Dalianliz Rosado had 11 digs and three aces. Samantha Seliger-Swenson had 40 assists in the match.
 With the win, Minnesota closes out the non-conference portion of the season. The Gophers open the Big Ten season next week when it travels to Ohio State, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. CT., followed by No. 1 Penn State, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at University Park, Pa.
Set 1: The Gophers hit .286 to Charleston's .265 and held a block advantage to take a 25-21 win. Minnesota opened the match with a 6-1 run, which forced Charleston to burn an early timeout. Minnesota added three blocks in the span, including a solo block from Paige Tapp. Minnesota would push the lead to 12-4 on a kill from Hannah Tapp and an ace by Seliger-Swenson. Leading 15-7, Charleston strung together four-straight points, but the Gophers had a Goehner kill for a sideout. As the Cougars closed the Gopher lead to 16-13, Minnesota called a timeout. Minnesota responded out of the break on a Paige Tapp kill, while Santana later would get kills for Minnesota's 18 and 19th point. That point forced the Cougars to take a timeout. As Charleston closed it to three, 20-17, Minnesota added back-to-back kills from Hannah Tapp and Goehner, and another Goehner kill for a 23-18 lead. Minnesota would go up 1-0 two kills from Paige Tapp.
Set 2: Minnesota used a three-point run in the middle of the second to push to 25-17 set win. The two teams traded points until the 12-12 mark of the second set. Minnesota would gain a two-point lead at 14-12 off a block from Paige Tapp and a Charleston attack error. Charleston used its first timeout of the set. Minnesota came out of the break with a block from Goehner and Paige Tapp to add a three-point lead. Paige Tapp then added back-to-back kills to push the score to 17-14. With another block from Paige Tapp and Seliger-Swenson, Santana put the Gophers' 20th point on the board with a kill. Seliger-Swenson added a solo block for a 22-15 lead, followed by a Lohman kill. The Gophers went up 2-0 on a Santana kill for set point and a Charleston service error.
Set 3: Minnesota earned a 25-23 third set win to sweep the Cougars. After exchanging points early, Minnesota took control of the set from the 5-4 mark. A Lohman/Santana block put the lead to 9-5. Charleston closed the deficit to 10-7, but Minnesota added a Goehner kill and a Tapp/Tapp block for a 12-7 lead. That forced Charleston to take a timeout. The Gophers would later hold a 16-10 lead, only to have Charleston respond with three-straight points as Minnesota called a timeout. The Gophers came out of the break with two-straight points with kills from Lohman and Hannah Tapp. The Gophers put the set at 19-15 on a Hannah Tapp kill (from Rosado) and later was up 21-16 on a pair of Charleston errors. With match point on the line, Charleston came within one as the Gophers called a timeout. Minnesota came out of the break with a Santana kill to end the set and the match.
