Ciskowski Leads Gophers After Day 1 in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Sophomore Heather Ciskowski paced the Minnesota women's golf team through two rounds at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships on Monday. Ciskowski is tied for 17th after scoring rounds of 71-74 to sit at three-over-par 145. As a team, the Gophers stand 10th at +25 (296-297-593).

Ciskowski, whose first-round even-par 71 represented the team's low round of the day, was followed closely behind by junior Emie Peronnin, who is tied for 37th at +6 (73-75-148). Sophomore Celia Kuenster sits one stroke behind at 149 (74-75), tied for 47th.

Sophomore Sabrine Garrison and freshman Niamh Ward posted identical rounds of 78-74-152, with the duo tied for 57th place at 10-over-par.

Kent State leads the team competition at five-under-par 563 (285-278), while the Golden Flashes' Taylor Kim is atop the leaderboard at six-under-par (69-67-136).

The tournament concludes Tuesday with a shotgun start scheduled for 7:30 a.m. CT from Cherokee Country Club.
