Day Two Complete for Minnesota's McCauley at NCAA Championships

CARLSBAD, Calif. - University of Minnesota senior Isabella McCauley closed out round two of the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf National Championships on Saturday. She carded a 3-over-par 75 during round two of stroke play on the North Course at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
In her third championship run, the senior fired two birdies and met par ten times through Saturday's 18 holes. She opened with a 1-over-par 37 on the front nine before carding a 2-over-par back nine to close out the day with a 75. Competing against a field of 156 of the NCAA's leading golfers, McCauley is currently tied for 38th place behind a total score of 145, sitting just seven shots behind the overall leaders through 36 holes.
No. 1-ranked Stanford moved up one spot to overtake No. 2 USC as the team leader with a score of 282 (-6) after round two. Fara O'Keefe of Texas, Kajsalotta Svarvar from Ole Miss, and Stanford's Meja Örtengren are tied for the top individual spot with 6-under-par total scores following the second round.
Looking Ahead:
The NCAA National Championship will continue Sunday, May 24, with the third round of stroke play. McCauley and her group will tee off on the 10th hole in the morning wave at 10:42 (CT). Fans can follow along with live results available via Scoreboard by Clippd.
After the third round, the top 15 teams and top nine individuals not on an advancing team will progress to one additional day of stroke play on May 25. The final round will determine the 72-hole NCAA individual champion and the top eight teams for match play competition.
