The University of Minnesota men's and women's swimming and diving teams are scheduled to travel to Evanston, Illinois this week for the annual two-day Big Ten Triple Dual meet. The Gophers will face the Northwestern Wildcats and Purdue Boilermakers from Friday, Jan. 29 to Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Norris Aquatics Center. The meet will be the last time the Gophers see action against B1G teams until their respective B1G Championships in February.

MATCH-UP REWIND
Last season's featured a Minnesota sweep against Northwestern and Purdue at home. The Gopher men topped Northwestern 250-103, and beat Purdue with a final score of 196.50-156.50. The Minnesota women's squad also earned convincing wins, including a 259-88 rout over the Wildcats and 232.50-116.50 win over the Boilermakers. Daryl Turner had a four-event win meet, while the Minnesota women won each relay.

LAST TIME OUT
Both the Gophers men's and women's teams collected wins on the road against Denver and BYU earlier this month. Minnesota knocked down 13 pool records on their way to victory. Highlights included senior Lauren Votava's perfect six event win meet and Turner's five gold finishes in his home state.

IN THE RANKS
The Minnesota men climbed to the No. 20 spot in the latest rankings, on Jan. 21, from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The Gophers currently have an overall season record of 5-3, and are 3-0 in 2016.

The Gopher women's squad is currently ranked No. 24 in the latest CSCAA poll as of Jan. 27. The team holds a 6-1-1 record.

Northwestern is currently unranked in both the men's and women's polls. The Purdue men are unranked as well, but the Boilermaker women boast a No. 18 ranking.

ON THE DOCKET
The Golden Gophers will host the annual Minnesota Challenge from Friday, Feb. 5 through Saturday, Feb. 6 in a three-session meet at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
