Members of the Minnesota men's basketball team will travel to the nation's capital this week for the annual Big Ten Media Day, which is being held for the first time in Washington, D.C., at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel this Thursday.

Fans of the Maroon and Gold will have multiple ways to follow along, as Big Ten Network will have live coverage throughout the day's events. Head coach Richard Pitino will address the assembled media in his press conference, which will be broadcast live from 8:10-8:20 a.m. CT.

In addition, BTN will have Pitino along with junior Nate Mason and sophomore Jordan Murphy live on set from 11:40 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CT.

Beginning with the trip to D.C. on Wednesday afternoon, the Gopher men's basketball social media channels will have coverage from the event, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Fans can also get a behind-the-scenes look by adding GopherSports on Snapchat.

Mason and Murphy are among the 30 student-athletes who will take part in media day, along with head coaches from all 14 member institutions. The site was selected in concert with the 2017 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament, which will be held at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. from March 8-12. Tickets for the 20th annual tournament will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. ET.
