AUSTIN, Texas - Senior Emie Peronnin surged on the final day of competition at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, earning her sixth career top-20 finish as the tournament concluded Tuesday at the University of Texas Golf Club.

The Gophers moved up a spot on the team leaderboard, finishing eighth after putting together their best round of the tournament (299-307-291-897).

"I am happy with how we came back today and impressed with Emie and the team's round," said head coach Michele Redman. "We still have work to do but are getting closer."

Peronnin tied for 17th after carding a 2-under-par 70 to finish the tournament at 4-over-par (74-76-70-220), her best tournament finish of the season to date. Just behind her was junior Sabrine Garrison, whose even-par round Tuesday helped her to a tie for 25th place at 9-over-par (75-78-72-225).

One stroke behind were a pair of Gophers, as sophomore Muyu Wu finished among a tie for 34th place at 10-over-par (74-76-76-226). Matching that total was junior Heather Ciskowski (76-77-73-226) after she posted her best 18-hole score of the weekend.

Sophomores Niamh Ward (79-80-79-238) and Maggie Heggerston (84-82-73-239) placed 67th and 68th respectively, the latter competing as an individual.

Minnesota will close out the fall season next weekend, traveling to Louisville for the Cardinal Cup from Sunday through Tuesday.
