Gophers Improve on Day 2 in Louisville

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. - The Minnesota women's golf team remains in 11th place through 36 holes at the Cardinal Cup. Junior Heather Ciskowski and senior Emie Peronnin led the way for Minnesota with strong rounds in day two.
Ciskowski had the low Gopher round on Monday, carding an even-par-72 to move into a tie for 26th (82-72-154) at 10-over par. Peronnin carded a 4-over-par 76 to finish the day tied for 21st (77-76-153), one stroke ahead of Ciskowski.
Sophomore Maggie Heggerston is tied for 37th (76-80-156) while sophomore Muyu Wu (84-77-161) and junior Sabrine Garrison (85-81-166) round out the Gopher lineup in ties for 60th and 87th place, respectively, after each improved on their first rounds.
Sophomore Niamh Ward, competing as an individual, is in 92nd place (84-88-172 ).
Florida State remains atop the team leaderboard (301-292-593), while Wisconsin's Brooke Ferrell is the individual leader after 36 holes at 1-under-par 143. As a team, the Gophers (319-305--624) are one stroke behind a two-way tie for ninth.
The final round of the Cardinal Cup tees off Tuesday morning with a 9:30 a.m. ET shotgun start.
