Big Ten Cross Country Championship Central
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota hosts the 2016 Big Ten Conference Cross Country Championships at Les Bolstad Course in Falcon Heights, Minn., this Sunday. Director of Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Steve Plasencia and Women's Cross Country Head Coach Sarah Hopkins met with media to preview the meet.
Plasencia and Hopkins discussed the strong competition in the Big Ten, expectations for their teams at the meet, and the opportunity for the Minnesota running community to enjoy cross country at its finest this weekend.
The B1G women's race begins at 10 a.m. with the men's race to follow at 11 a.m. CT Admission is free. Parking is available at Lot S101 (on the corner of Cleveland and Commonwealth) and the Gortner Ave Ramp. Shuttles will transport to the golf course. Fans are advised to park on city streets at their own risk.
Along with the two races, fans can enjoy the Big Ten Fan Fest, which will include face painting, yard games, music, concessions, a bouncy house for kids, and more. The B1G Fan Fest will be located east of the driving range parking lot and west of the start/finish area.
