Gophers Finish 12th at Cardinal Cup

SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. - The Minnesota women's golf team put the wraps on its fall season Tuesday afternoon at the University of Louisville Golf Club, finishing the final round of the Cardinal Cup in 12th place.
Minnesota (319-305-311-935) was led by junior Heather Ciskowski, who finished tied for 29th at 15-over par (82-72-77-231). One stroke behind her was senior Emie Peronnin, who tied for 35th (77-76-79-232).
Sophomore Maggie Heggerston earned her second-best career tournament finish, tying for 56th (76-80-82-238). Two strokes behind her was classmate Muyu Wu, who tied for 61st (84-77-79-240). Junior Sabrine Garrison rounded out the lineup, placing among a tie for 68th place (85-81-76-242).
The Gophers' individual competitor, sophomore Niamh Ward, placed 91st (84-88-83-255).
Florida State claimed the team title with a overall score of 876 while Wisconsin's Brooke Ferrell repeated as medalist after finishing the tournament at 2-under-par 214.
With the fall schedule concluded, the Maroon and Gold will not return to competition until February, traveling to Tallahassee, Fla., for the Florida State Match Up on Feb. 10-12.
