Gophers in the Polls: October 26

Two Gophers teams remained in the top three while another moved up two spots as they contend for a conference title.t Below is a summary of each team, and tickets for all upcoming home events are available by visiting mygophersports.com.

Women's Hockey - #2

Last Week: The Maroon and Gold picked up another weekend sweep, this time on the road as the Gophers defeated Ohio State by scores of 3-2 and 2-1 on Friday and Saturday.

This Week: The Gophers return to Ridder Arena to host St. Cloud State in a Thursday/Friday series this week. Puck drop is set for 7:07 p.m. CT both nights.

Volleyball - #3

Last Week: Minnesota split a pair of five-set road matches last weekend, defeating Iowa before falling to No. 1-ranked Nebraska on Sunday.

This Week: The Gophers return to the Sports Pavilion confines when it hosts Rutgers and Penn State, Friday and Saturday night. Friday's match is slated for a 7 p.m., start, while Saturday's contest is at 6:30 p.m.

Wrestling - #9

Preseason: Minnesota earned the number-nine spot in the Intermat Dual Meet Rankings.

Coming Up: The Gophers open their season on the mat on Sunday, November 6, traveling to Brookings, S.D., for the Warren Williamson / Daktronics Open.

Soccer - #11

Last Week: The Gophers battled Northwestern in Evanston for 110 minutes in a 0-0 draw. Minnesota's offense tallied 16 shots, while the Gophers defense and goalkeeper Tarah Hobbs recorded another shutout.

This Week: Minnesota hosts Maryland Wednesday night in the regular season finale. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. as the Gophers look to claim the Big Ten regular season title for the fourth time in program history.

Men's Hockey - #12

Last Week: The Gophers dropped a pair of games in a home-and-home series with St. Cloud State, falling in overtime, 6-5, Friday at Mariucci Arena before a 3-2 defeat Saturday on the road.

Coming Up: Minnesota travels to the Empire State, facing Clarkson and St. Lawrence on the road on Friday and Saturday nights, with both games' scheduled puck drop at 6 p.m.

Men's Swimming & Diving - #12

Last Week: The Gophers defeated Wisconsin, 185-115, on October 13 in their lone dual thus far this season.

Coming Up: Minnesota hosts Iowa on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.

Women's Swimming & Diving - #16

Last Week: The Gophers dropped a narrow home dual decision to Wisconsin, 158-142, in their only competition to date on October 13.

Coming Up: Minnesota hosts Iowa on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.

Also Receiving Votes: The Gopher men's and women's cross country teams are also receiving votes in their respective polls.
