For the second-straight year Golden Gophers Rashida Beal and Josee Stiever have both been named to the Academic All-District Team for their success on the field and in the classroom, announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Beal, a senior from Germantown, Wisc., has been a key player for the Gophers' backline during her four years. Minnesota's defense has tallied 12 shutouts this season, including eight in conference play. Beal boasts a 3.95 GPA as a psychology major and neuroscience minor.

Stiever, a senior from Cedarburg, Wisc., has been the team's offensive MVP the past two years and has already recorded seven goals and seven assists in her senior campaign. Stiever is a communications major and sport management minor with a 3.45 GPA.

Beal and Stiever are two of four Minnesota seniors that will be graduating early this December with hopes of playing professionally.
