Gophers to Host Big Ten Championship

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota men's and women's cross country programs are set to host the 2016 Big Ten Conference Cross Country Championships at Minnesota's Les Bolstad Course in Falcon Heights, Minn., on Sunday, Oct. 30.
Fourteen women's teams and 12 men's teams will toe the line at Les Bolstad Course. The women's six-kilometer race is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CT with the men's eight-kilometer race to follow at 11 a.m. CT. An awards presentation will follow.
Admission to the B1G Championship is free, and parking is available in Lot S101 (on the corner of Cleveland and Commonwealth) and the Gortner Ave. Ramp. Shuttles will transport fans to the golf course. Park on city streets at your own risk.
At the 2015 Big Ten Championship, the Penn State women and Michigan men took home the B1G team titles while Purdue's Matt McClintock won the men's individual title in 23:12.1 and Michigan's Erin Finn won the women's race in 19:44.9.

Les Bolstad Course, home of the Golden Gopher men's and women's cross country teams, is located at 2275 W. Larpenteur Ave. in Falcon Heights, Minn., 55113. The course annually plays host to the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, one of the nation's largest cross country events in the nation. Minnesota has also hosted Big Ten Championships and an NCAA Midwest Region Championships in recent seasons. The first three kilometers are common to all races. Course maps are available below.
