IOWA CITY, Iowa. (GopherSports.com) - All-Big Ten Gophers Obsa Ali and Charlie Lawrence repeated as NCAA All-Region honorees on Friday as the Minnesota men's cross country program finished seventh at the 2016 NCAA Midwest Regional at Ashton Cross Country Course.

The Maroon & Gold combined for 205 points at Friday's 10-kilometer race.

Ali and Lawrence, both of whom also earned NCAA All-Region honors in 2015, led the Gophers with top-20 finishes at the meet. A junior from Minneapolis, Minn., Ali clocked a 30:42.1 followed four spots later by Lawrence, a redshirt junior captain from Foley, Minn., in 18th at 30:45.5.

Fellow All-Big Ten Gopher Connor Olson finished 29th in his NCAA regional debut, crossing the finish line at 30:58.0 while Joey Duerr finished 61st in his first regional meet at 31:33.7. Derek Wiebke closed out Minnesota's scoring in 83rd with a time of 32:03.6.

Matt Welch (104th, 32:24.5) and Evan Ferlic (119th, 32:43.2) were also in action for the Gophers.
