Junior Matt Leidner talks which linemen has the best hair, tater tot hot dish, funniest guy on the team and more in the latest Gopher Talk!

Gopher Sports: What do you like to do outside of football?

Matt Leidner: I love to go up to my cabin and do some hunting and fishing. I really like to snowmobile too, that's probably my biggest passion.

GS:
Which offensive linemen has the best hair?

ML: I'm going to have to go with Chad Fahning. He won't like that I said that. Chad has some great hair and he's making it rock with what he has.

GS: What's it like playing so close to home?

ML: It means everything. Having my parents come to the game and seeing them every week. If I went out of state somewhere I wouldn't be able to see them unless they came down and traveled to a game, which they probably wouldn't do.

GS: Who would win in a wrestling match between you and Mitch?

ML: I would definitely win. I've beaten him many times. He's not as good on the ground as I am. We wrestled a lot in high school. When I started getting a lot stronger than him then it was really fun.

GS: What's your favorite place to go on campus?

ML: My favorite place to go on campus is probably Manning's Restaurant. They have really good burgers and the waitress Helen is really cool. We just built a great relationship with her over the years.

GS: Who's the funniest member of the team and why?

ML: I would probably have to say Quinn Oseland. Just the things that he does, day in and day out that just make you laugh. The kid is absolutely hilarious.

GS: What's your favorite kind of music and who's your favorite artist?

ML: I'm definitely a big country music guy and I really like Chris Stapleton. I listen to him a lot. My favorite song is probably "Fire Away."

GS: If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only bring one teammate, who would it be and why?

ML:
I would probably bring Mitch just because we get along so well off the field, and I would never get sick of him on the island.

GS: Who's your favorite super hero?

ML: The Hulk. I just like how he can turn it on and off just like players have to be able to do that on the field. I think that's pretty cool.

GS: What's your dream job?

ML: I'm a mechanical engineering major so once I get done with football I would like to find a job in that field. I want to find something that I'm really passionate about. I'm passionate about power sports like snowmobiles so working with them would be pretty cool.

GS: If you could play any other sports besides football, what would it be?

ML: I would play baseball all day. It's the most relaxing sport. It's a lot of mental focus and I wish I was better at it.

GS: Who's your celebrity crush?

ML:
Jennifer Aniston. She's just beautiful and a great actress. She's just flawless.

GS: What would you do if you won the lottery?

ML: I would put it in bank, but I would definitely spend some money on some land. Land is a good investment and I love to hunt and fish so I would be doing a lot of that.

GS: What's your strangest talent?

ML: I would say I'm a really good whistler. I like to whistle a lot. It really bugs my roommates.

GS: What's your favorite home cooked meal?

ML: My mom makes really good tatter tot hot dish. It's just so delicious and it's a Minnesota food. You can't go wrong with it.

GS: What's your favorite show to watch on Netflix?

ML: Definitely "Sons of Anarchy." I'm going to be a biker guy someday, have tattoos and stuff like that. Just watching them and what they do is pretty exciting.

GS: Who would you get to play you in a movie?

ML: I would definitely have to choose Gerrard Butler. I think we have a lot of similarities in our facial features and overall he's a great actor.
